The JSW group who are expanding in the eastern region and with strong focus on marketing their cement division, wanted a revamped office environment which would serve as a platform to launch themselves from and establish their hold in the region.  They had a fully functional office located on the 10^th floor of a commercial tower in Salt Lake surrounded by large water bodies.  This office space was cut off from the elements by having cabins along the periphery with solid partitions and semi glazed doors and uncharacteristically warm interior lighting, which resulted in a gloomy ambience.  Even though this space was newly built, the client’s vision was to renew and infuse life into it.  The entire area was opened up, bringing in the maximum amount of daylight by keeping the open benching workstations at the exterior periphery and arranging the full height glass cabins and other services around them.  Thus, addressing all the spatial and functional requirements through a rational and minimalistic approach.  With a neutral base colour palette life was imbued with the subtle use of bright earthy colours of green and yellow, which broke the monotony of the space and at the same time colour coding the various verticals within the open work area.  The client’s idea was to emulate the spatial quality of the company’s headquarters at Mumbai but within a strict budget.  After completion, this project was highly appreciated by the owner of the company. which seemingly exceeded his expectations.
