This design was intended to pay tribute to hockey, highlighting its glory on the occasion of the Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018, to be held in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. The design aims to emphasize on the state’s contribution and its illustrious past with the sport. The design has been conceptualised keeping in mind the sport-lovers, the pedestrians, general public and the ongoing traffic along the site.

This memorial is intended to ignite the passion of the game lovers, who infuse life and spirit in the game and apprise the public of its glorious history and the consequent world cups.
