HPCL acquired the 14th floor of NBCC square building in New Town, Kolkata for a new Eastern regional office for their Retail department. With the available floor space, other departments were also accommodated in their full hierarchical structure, from non-management to management level staff. The reception has a curved minimalist sculptural desk set in a warm backdrop by use of wood finishes, this signifies the union of sleek seamless functionality and warmth and richness of a renowned organization. The Cafeteria and Officer cabins with fully glazed partitions were placed along the Northern and Southern sides respectively, along the facades which were fully glazed. This allows the natural light to penetrate into the building, promoting an active and stress-free work environment and giving the user / visitor a grasp of the extensive office space, spanning nearly 50 metres, North to South. The aim was addressing all the spatial and functional requirements through a rational approach. The neutral colour palette in the workspace, with subtle use of bright colours and textures, break the monotony of space and provide vistas at key entry points in the workspace.
